Project Phases /

Our services

The stages of a project are formally defined by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Plan of Work, which outlines Stages 0–7. However, to provide a clearer and more accessible overview, the process can generally be understood in three key phases: planning, building regulations, and construction.

As architects, we can be involved from the outset of a project through to its completion. However, this is not always necessary or feasible, and involvement can vary depending on the specific requirements of each project. The stages outlined below represent the typical progression of a project from inception to completion.

    • Understand your goals, budget, and site potential

    • Develop your brief and initial ideas

    • Create concept designs and layouts

    • Refine the design with you

    • Prepare and submit planning applications

    • Produce detailed technical drawings

    • Ensure compliance with building regulations

    • Coordinate with engineers and specialists

    • Prepare information required for approvals and construction

    • Oversee the build on site

    • Liaise with contractors and manage queries

    • Monitor quality and progress

    • Final inspections and snagging

    • Support after completion
