Lumitekton is a UK-based architecture and design led practice with head offices in both north and south England. The studio specialises in architecture and design projects covering residential, commercial, educational buildings, furniture and installations.
Athens-born, Lida Sklirou and British-born Umar Faruque met while studying architecture in Leeds in 2000. They set up their studio in 2015 after having collaborated in many independent projects and installations.
Umar Faruque studied Architecture in Leeds. He has worked in a variety of practices as a project runner prior to setting up Lumitekton Ltd and has vast experience in construction stage and technical detailing working closely with builders and manufacturers alike. Umar has a keen eye for detail and loves anything that has to do with historic buildings and sites. He is design driven with his designs having been mentioned in the local press several times.
Lida studied Architecture in Leeds and completed a Masters degree in Architecture and Digital design systems in London where she studied tensile structures. She is ARB and RIBA registered. Lida worked in a variety of projects in practices all over the UK prior to setting up Lumitekton Ltd with Umar . She has worked as a project architect on numerous projects. Both Lida and Umar love travelling and have done so in many parts of the world.
